The Science Adventures Acquisition

KLC School Partnerships acquired Science Adventures in summer 2006. In addition to interactive summer camp programs, this leading-edge science program offers many mind-expanding learning opportunities during the fall and winter season.

The Science Adventures curriculum features lessons that include many "hands-on, take home" projects that emphasize key science concepts based on National Science Standards. Six different clubs are offered during the school year. Each club meets once a week for one hour after school. Most clubs meet for five weeks.

After School Clubs 2006-2007

Motion Madness Assembly

From gravity to air pressure, children begin to understand the science of motion. Newton's tug-o-war, spud rockets, and air socks are all used to illustrate properties of moving objects.

Club Guts

Club Guts hosts a tour of the human body and all its amazing systems, including the skeletal system. Children create a "breathtaking" lung model and discover how the body works from the inside out.

Science Rocks

Children create their own rock collection complete with a display case. From lava to erosion, kids discover how rocks are formed and recycled. For added fun, they explore the sweet taste of cookie geology and build a model volcano.

Planet Zone

Children meet the sun and the worlds around it. They investigate the planets from Mercury to the icy worlds at the edge of our solar system. Learning about moon phases and peering at the surface of the sun are also part of Planet Zone.

Toyology

Kids find out what makes our favorite toys bounce, spin, swim, and fly. They explore the amazing biology of Sea-Monkeys®, the physics of tops, and the chemistry of Silly Putty®.

Science Magic

Children discover the shocking truth behind electricity and make glowing slime. They amaze their friends with disappearing water and the mysterious force of magnetism. Kids thrill to becoming a laboratory "Wiz" and unlocking the science secrets of some amazing "magic" tricks and awesome illusions.

Creepy Crawlies

Kids meet the creatures that live in every backyard. It's a chance to peer into the invertebrate underworld to explore the lives of these amazing creatures.
