For nearly 20 years, KLC School Partnerships' core service offering has been our onsite before and after school programming, provided at no cost to schools.

An Extended Learning Emphasis

KLC School Partnerships' programs are divided into five Activity Areas developed by our company's curriculum support team. The Activity Areas provide a mix of learning and recreational activities that both reinforce classroom lessons and "let kids be kids:"

  • Take the Challenge—a homework focused segment
  • Imagine That—art, music and drama
  • Sports Zone—indoor and outdoor recreational activities
  • The Nature of It—science-related projects
  • Snack Attack—an opportunity to learn about healthy eating and to enjoy a healthy snack

Literacy, Character-Building, and Fitness Enhancements

Read Write Now literacy enhancement
  • At least 30 minutes of the after-school day are dedicated to a reading, writing, or vocabulary building activity.
  • Children's progress is tracked and rewarded.
  • The innovative Champions BookClub introduces a new work of children's literature monthly.
    • Staff read aloud to children to enhance their appreciation.
    • A variety of activities maximizes children's enjoyment of each book.

Do-Right Crew Character-Building program
Helps children and families grow in several areas, including:

  • Mentoring
  • Community involvement
  • Family involvement
  • Conflict resolution
  • Diversity appreciation

Fitness initiative
This program incorporates fun daily fitness activities that focus on five major areas:

  • Physical activity
  • Health
  • Nutrition
  • Goal setting

Staff step into the role of personal trainer, inspiring children to adopt healthy eating habits and maintain physical fitness as a life-long pursuit.

Industry-Leading Quality Monitoring Criteria

For the past seven years, KLC School Partnerships has utilized our Top 10 Quality Criteria at all after-school, preschool, and kindergarten sites. These criteria ensure that staff fully implement and are accountable to maintain essential program components through monthly program evaluations. The school-age Top 10 Quality Criteria, based on NAA (National AfterSchool Association) guidelines, include routine measurement and documentation of key program elements, including:
