Champions Tutoring Programs

Locate a True SES Partner in the Champions Tutoring Program

Literally hundreds—perhaps thousands—of Supplemental Educational Services (SES) providers have emerged to address No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements. The Champions Tutoring Program is distinguished among these as a capable and experienced SES partner.

The SES Top 10 Quality Criteria: A Key Teacher Training Tool

The Champions Tutoring Program has developed its own unique SES Top 10 Quality Criteria. Top 10 emphasizes consistent program quality levels that focus on:

  • Staff professionalism
  • SES program compliance
  • Communication of program goals with parents and schools
  • Effective implementation of instructional materials
  • Resources that benefit teachers in the SES environment and their own classrooms

The ITP: Individual Tutorial Plan

Champions Tutoring Program instructors identify clearly defined reading and mathematics learning goals for each student based on assessment results. Progress reports determine if these learning goals are actually being achieved. The key benefit is an individualized tutorial plan that meets each child's specific needs and is geared toward district learning objectives.

Delivering the Essentials: Clear Assessment and Reporting Procedures

The Champions Tutoring Program's record of accomplishment is to deliver clear, measurable results and to keep parents, teachers, and administrators fully informed as children progress. We enhance schools' ability to meet the challenging needs of the diverse populations they serve, helping them achieve rigorous SES requirements and fulfill the vision of NCLB.

Linking to the Communities We Serve: A Supportive, Caring Presence

Finally, the Champions Tutoring Program shows solidarity with parents and the community by being a supportive caring presence beyond the classroom environment:

  • Provides FREE parent workshops (both in English and Spanish) on topics such as demystifying standardized tests and helping children with homework
  • Distributes monthly newsletters that offer abundant tips on understanding NCLB and helping children achieve
  • Shares our knowledge at statewide parent conferences
  • Incorporates staff volunteerism at community carnivals, reading/literacy fairs, and summer schools
  • Donates supplies, refreshments and other support to Community Based Organizations (CBOs)

Private Pay Tutoring Option

KLC School Partnerships can also provide private-pay tutorial programs and has done so for several district clients. We target specific skills deficiencies with our clients and work closely with classroom teachers. Our programs demonstrate measurable skills improvement. We tailor programs to address each district's specific learning goals.
